Loads the FirstPoint software onto a brand-new display. You only
ever need to do this once — after this, the display updates itself
automatically overnight.
Open this page in Google Chrome or Microsoft
Edge on a computer (phones and tablets can't do
this step).
Plug the display into the computer with a USB cable. It must be a
data cable — some charging cables have no data wires and
the display will light up but never appear in step 4.
Pick which display you have below.
Click Connect and choose the display in the pop-up —
it's normally the only thing listed (if several appear,
unplug other USB gadgets and try again). Then click
Install. Leave the cable in until it says it's done
(about a minute).
This web browser can't talk to USB
devices. Please open this page in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a
computer.
The display never shows up in the port list
Try a different USB cable first — charge-only cables are the most common
cause.
On Windows, some of the displays need a one-time driver
so the computer recognizes them. Download and run the
CH343 serial
driver, then unplug and replug the display.
It connects but the install fails or stalls
Put the display into its loading mode by hand: hold the button marked
BOOT, tap the button marked RESET, then
let go of BOOT. Then click Connect and Install again. (If the display is
in a case, the buttons are usually small holes or tabs on the back.)
After a manual BOOT install, unplug and replug the display once to start
it.
